pH Adjusters

pH represents the level of acidity present in your soil, which has a major impact on your ability to successfully grow plants. The pH also impacts nutrient availability and microbial activity. Yukon soil can be slightly basic to slightly acidic depending by region; for instance native soils around Whitehorse often are slightly basic.

We offer several products you can use to adjust pH levels. Some plants enjoy a more acidic soil than others, such as peppers and radishes, rhododendrons and some hydrangeas. Aluminum sulphate decreases the pH and provides optimal conditions for acid-loving plants, while dolomitic lime adds calcium and magnesium to the soil while gently increasing the pH.
